Strangely small

Moments of despair may cause concern;
Years of despair makes you insane.

Moments of solitude makes one wise;
Years of solitude drives one nuts.

My recent pour downs

Thought I'll pen down my recent pour downs into the pages filled to the brim with words. Just to depict the complexity within and the interests that seems to be omnipresent. These occupy most of the free time and are basically pretty good. All these books stir me up in some form or the other. Just love them.

Hitler's Mein kamph
Beatles biography Shout
Jim Collin’s good to Great
Jose saramago's The Double
Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the time of cholera
Stephen covey's 8th habit

Hope to pitch in about my learning’s from these whenever time permits provided I complete them and remember not to forget to brag about it in the blog.

Am a complex creature

Lot of people to whom I speak/move around with are viewing me as a pretty weird/complex creature roaming on earth. Their facades sport numerous distortions on them expressing their amazement at the existence of a homo sapient in me (if I can call so) dazzling around them. Am just adjusting to live around these sane people obliviously ignoring the insanity in me. Am just socializing with these people expecting them to confer me with a Gregorian status in the end. Don’t know -- this word somehow sounds like a green card for me.

Was just wondering why am hearing these remarks about me. Am I drinking and walking? Am I smoking and talking? Am I driving and over speeding? Am I playing games and losing money?

The problem they are saying is that am not getting bored in life. They never happen to hear that word from me and the concluding remark that am insane stands justifiable according to them. The problem with me is I don't find a reason to get bored. I occupy myself with something or the other, with stuff that I love doing.

Lately there are 2 more additions to the stuff that am doing.

1) Crayoning -- yes I got a crayon set 2 weeks back in an idea to draw something. Was successful in doing that. drew lot of lines criss-cross and colored them nicely with the crayons and hence my first painting went into production and I have told myself that a lot more is yet to come.

2) Cross word solving -- Have joined the cross word solving community online and am trying to crack and set clues. Sitting with the Hindu crossie and expecting to hit bingo (means to crack the whole thing) at least once.

These 2 are the newest activities getting added to guitaring, bike riding, novel reading and gyming and of course working in cognizant, solving issues, fixing bugs, moving them into production now and then.

Instead of appreciating a virtuoso and once in a life-time entity like me, people are trying to quarantine me into seclusion, into emptiness, into phobia soaked closeness. All am saying is accept me, join me and bathe yourself in the pool of idiosyncrasy by staying away from mundane life and by celebrating the obscureness available in plethora.

Insight Machine

Dictionary meaning of insight says:-

-- grasping the inner nature of things intuitively
-- Clear or deep perception of a situation
-- The clear (and often sudden) understanding of a complex situation
-- A feeling of understanding

Sometimes when you get a concept right, the thought process just keeps flowing and makes you solve a complex problem pretty easily. That’s because of the insight that got surfaced in your mind at the appropriate time. Insights are very powerful indeed.

Insights take the form of Socratic questions that make you look at the world through sharper lenses. Insights hove between eye-opening brilliance and head slapping obviousness. It compels you to do some thing. It has the capacity to take something that you know in your head and make you feel it in your gut. It’s the brick and mortar of life and can be concocted to be its holy grail.

Phil dusenberry says these words emphasizing insights to be more insightful than mere ideas. Give a man a fish; he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime. That is the whole universal concept of survival. If a person has 1 or 2 ideas, he tries to apply them to different situations. But if a person has insights, the ideas just keep flowing like an unstopped stream of river.

Slogans, captions, etc that we see in the advertising commercials branding all the brands are the result of the fruitful sublimation of insights. These determine the longevity of the brand in the market arena. These captivate the consumers mind and make them long for the product. These momentous insights play a huge role in increasing the sales volume of the product in the market. Even when everything is perfect, we need some strategy to sell it and that’s what insights do.

When you have guts, you basically stand and deliver. Natural instincts determine how you would act at the spur of the moment. Ideas develop upon cogitation. Insights and gut feeling get portrayed when you inhabit it in your cell. It comes via constant practice and unrestrained application.

Ideas being a stimulant drive a thought. Insights generate 1000 ideas that would help you to write an epic. When somebody says you are insightful; it’s a pretty costly praise that they are giving. Let’s try to become insightful from now on.

Standing for something

Standing for what you believe in regardless of the odds against you and the pressure that tears up your resistance means courage. We all have to stand for something in life, to follow some principle, to resist a law getting violated, to encourage our comrades, to punish the wrong doers, to lead and make others emulate you in following truth and honesty.

The medical students refusing to accept PM's words are pretty much appreciated. Political parties stir the nation with some idiotic policy that has only one motive - to gain political votes in the election. This strike should go on till our demands are met and we should not compromise on anything but justice. Was amazed by what sarat babu (the person who rose from Chennai slums to being called the food king after passing out from IIMA) had to say. He said reservation helped me get into the IIM in my third attempt, but if not, I would have got into it in my fourth attempt. The reservation helped him precipitate things by a year. Such talented people will always get heard coz they believe in their ability and not on the reservation legacy.27% reservation is too much to give in coz the people who actually enjoy this prize are those who are well off financially, whose parents have the ability to support them on their own. Will these people refrain from using this loophole thereby giving chances for the needy? No chance. Even if you have lots, accept it when somebody else gives you more. The Gujarat government trying to stop the screening of FANAA is again an irresponsible act by the political party. In politics everything is personnel. Aamir khan stood to derive justice to the Narmadha bachao aandolan activists and to the people of Gujarat, but that was against the political view and hence he's opposed. Improper politics will never change no matter what. Whatever it takes by the citizens to filter the errors, will in the end lead to failure of their own democracy.

There is one problem with all of us. We people stand when we have a problem, sit back and stare when the problem gets solved at the same time when others are having the problem. Its at those times where you need to stand up and deliver. We needn't stand for big issues, but lets stand for all the problems we see happening in front of our eyes. Lets follow what our heart has to say after we have listened to what our mind had to say. Stand for what you want you to be.

FedEx stands out for speed and reliability. Mohammad gajni stands out for perseverance and patience. Australia stands out for winning and always winning. Hitler stands out for rising from the ashes to become the greatest hero. Let us stand out not because we dont have a place to sit, but because we want to stand for what we believe in.
